The nearest household waste recycling centre for Watford residents is Waterdale (Garston), on St Albans Road near Garston, WD25 0PR. It's run by Hertfordshire County Council and takes fridges and freezers, plus other large domestic appliances, in separate designated bins.

Before you go, bear in mind:

• You need a free recycling centre ePass registered to your vehicle — number plates are checked on arrival, and there's no need to book a visit slot separately

Items must be left outside the front of the property — crews do not collect from inside the home.
